IHC disposes of plea against Zardari
The Islamabad High Court here Wednesday disposed of a writ petition seeking a bar on PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari to contest presidential election.
The court allowed petitioner to re-appeal after the process was over.
The single bench of Chief Justice Sardar Mohammad Aslam heard the plea by Advocate Sardar Zaheer Ahmed Khan.
The petitioner argued that the coalition-backed candidate Asif Ali Zardari was not eligible to contest the presidential race because he was charged with corruption.
He also challenged the Chief Election Commission's decision over a similar plea on August 28 in which he raised certain objections against Zardari's campaign.
